I know this is an old thread, but I've recently discovered my favourite, and perhaps one of the the most challenging, ABQ session times. Wednesday at 10:00 local. Try and make it all the way through the hour without loosing your mind ;)

It starts out pretty benign, but towards the end of the hour gets crazy with airliners coming at you from all gates. Fun stuff!

Anyone else discovered any challenging ABQ session times?

Thanks Andrew for reviving this thread!

Come on guys Big smile! I know you all have favorite session times, especially with the latest traffic schedule database. Share them with everyone to spice up our controlling routines!

As a suggestion, rate your sessions as easy, medium or difficult. Also along with the time and facility, mention how many arrivals and departures to expect in an hour (on the graph display).

This could be a lot of fun Wink.

I tried this session this morning and as you say I did lose my mind. Great challenge. I'm going to try again after I finish work. This time with a beer on stand by to ease the nerves.

Cheers!!

The slider for "Custom" aircraft allows you access to a "custom" database of scheduled traffic. This database is currently being created manually for adding extra or special traffic for testing. In the future this could be used for user added traffic schedules. We will let you know as this feature develops.
Thanks,
Dave

And where do I download this custom database file?

My favorite scenario is ATL (A80) at 1600Z on Wednesday. From 1600Z-1747Z you'll have 28 jets under your control from initial handoff. Aircraft already being controlled when you sign on don't count toward the number of aircraft worked. Set the commercial a/c to 100%. Work D and V, that's ATL North Feeder and ATL North Final, with a west flow to 26R. Another good scenario is 1719Z-1833Z on Wednesday with the same setup. You can have up to around 10 aircraft in trail on the scope at one time as things pick up, the intervals tighten, and the speeds have to start dropping to maintain order. When you set the time for these scenarios I mentioned, BE SURE IT'S Z TIME, NOT LOCAL.
