Hi all,
Here is a list of some favorite times and days for sessions at each facility. This will be an ongoing list and I encourage everyone to chime in and contribute your own. Please describe what makes it your favorite and the position/direction you are controlling. Note all times are local time. Also, if you right click on the time numbers it brings up a list of the 5 most recent session times to set the clock to.

Recent edit (July '16):
The following times are from the original release traffic schedule. With the current traffic schedule selecting the same level of traffic at these facilities will give a similar result. I will update the times for the current database soon. Experiment and report your own favorites!

ABQ
07:50 Thursday. East or West flow. North and South positions. Set Arrivals - Custom to 100% (this is from the custom database file). This adds 28 arrivals into ABQ during an hour which is an unusually high volume. Affectionately referred to the "nightmare" scenario LOL.
Note the very high mountain ridge to the east of the airport that can cause trouble when running West flow. Be sure to turn on the MVA map!

A80
08:45 Wednesday. East Flow. S Final position (try adding S approach if desired). Commercial arrivals to 100%. 93 arrivals in the hour. This provides a nice steady flow of arrivals to runway 9R from 3-4 streams, NW, NE, SW and  SE. The challenge is to combine the streams and maintain separation. It is doable with some practice.

MIA
18:30 Thursday. East Flow. S Final position (try adding S approach if desired). Commercial arrivals to 100%. 60 arrivals in the hour. The provides a nice st4eady flow of arrivals to rwy 9 from 2 streams, SW and E. This is challenging but easier than A80 and quite doable with practice.

S46
18:30 Monday. South Flow. Seattle Final position only. Commercial arrivals to 100%. 33 arrivals in an hour. A little busy at first with some arrivals from the NW then settles down to an easy flow from the S. Easily doable and fun. Aircraft will be pre-assigned to runways and you need to give the approach to the correct one. Note rwy 16L uses tower freq. 120.95 and rwy 16C/R uses tower freq. 119.9.

TYS
16:50 Thursday. NW Flow. Both E and W positions. Commercial arrivals 100% will be 7 in and hour. Adding corporate and others will make things more interesting and challenging. Watch out for high terrain in the East.

MCI
Looking for user suggestions for Kansas City session times.

That's it for now.
Cheers,
Dave Logan

Great stuff. At the moment I'm sticking to the session times from the tutorials. I am just about getting the hang of departures. I will be sure to try them out when I get better.

Hi Dave,

Happy New Year to you and the rest of the team,

"Nightmare" doesn't sound encouraging Big smile, but will give it a try when my loading problems are over.
What do you mean with : "this is from the custom database file" ?

Regards

Martin

Hi Martin,
The slider for "Custom" aircraft allows you access to a "custom" database of scheduled traffic. This database is currently being created manually for adding extra or special traffic for testing. In the future this could be used for user added traffic schedules. We will let you know as this feature develops.
Thanks,
Dave

Some footage from a session I had at ABQ the other night.

Loving the sim so far.  Anyone else have any recorded footage? I'd love to see how guys are managing their traffic.

10:00 thursday at ABQ (with all airports turned on) for me is a perfect transition from the beginner basics into the meatier, more challenging parts of the sim.  In the first half hour alone, you get overflights, GA, non-towered IFR clearance, towered IFR clearances, satellite arrivals, etc.

It's not overwhelming, but it keeps you on your toes and forces you to learn parts of the game you don't see when you're just getting used to the sim.  At least, I've been trying it over and over again until I learn how to deal with all these new things.

Oh, and:

Please add Wayfarer 515 to the ABQ custom traffic.  ;)

Haha I had to google wayfarer 515. Little dark but made me laugh pretty good.

It would be nice to have the ability to add custom air traffic schedules.

Definitely. I figure its in the cards if we support atc pro enough, though. Quick, everyone buy 100 copies!
